Excuse for my Absence!

I've been absent as I'm sure you've noticed but I have not stopped taking my pictures! My cord is MIA and with the big move, I haven't had time to find it (or anything else for that matter!)
When I play catch up you probably wont get all my amazing stories, but you will get all the pictures. They'll just be wordless :)

Have a good rest of the week everybody!!

Packing, Packing and More Packing

Sunday, June 21st

Day 48
Getting ready to move is TOUGH! It's what we've wanted for a long time but it takes ALOT to pack up everything and get rid of all the junk that's accumulated over time! We'll hopefully be moving this weekend and I'm so excited! I just want everything to go smoothly and not waiting till last minute to pack seems like a great idea. So Glenn and I packed ALL day Sunday. We have stacks of boxes and stuff everywhere but we're almost done!
This is one of our huge stacks of boxes. Oh yeah, and Happy Father's Day to all the great Dads out there!

Nolan's 1st Birthday Party!

Saturday, June 20th

Day 47
Nolan's birthday party was GREAT! It was a little cloudy and we forgot a few things (like a spatula for the burgers...duh!) but overall it went way smooth.
There's not much else to say except:

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY NOLAN!!

OH and Nolan colored the first time today! I was so proud! I handed him a crayon and he actually scribbled all over a piece of paper!!

Day 45

One day till the big event!

Friday, June 19th

Day 46
And no I'm not talking about the 2 dollar tank top sale at Old Navy. (Although, that's pretty amazing too!) We were rushing around like crazy people and my friend Kelsey came over to help me sort through the chaos and keep my mind straight.

She helped me start making all the food and helped me put the kids to bed so that I didn't feel like I was stretching myself all over the house at once and get myself all stressed out. (And for that, you can't even begin to know how stressful I get!)

So once the kids were in bed sleeping, and we had half the stuff for the fruit salad cut up and put in the bowls I realized half the fruit was moldy (yeah nice, the fruit that I bought the day before!!) So, we ventured out into the rain to go to Walmart. About half way up the hill we saw flash after flash of lightening. Turns out, we were driving right into the coolest storm that hadn't hit our house yet. So we turned around to get the camera, because with a lightening storm this huge, you're bound to get ONE picture of the lightening right?!

Partially right. You have to either have a quick camera or LOTS of patience. I took about 45 pictures and got ONE picture of the lightening. When we finally got to Walmart it was hailing so hard, it looked like it was SNOWING! So we ran in the store and what we found inside was much scarier than what we had been in outside! Walmart has glass panes in the ceiling to allow for some more natural light. Well through those glass panes, the lightening was literally flashing in the store! And the thunder and hail echoed through the building like an abandoned warehouse. It was so loud so I shouted to Kelsey "LETS GO BACK TO THE DOORS AND TAKE PICTURES TILL THE STORM LETS UP A LITTLE!" So we did take lots of pictures and it was a comfort to be near the door where you were SUPPOSED to see the storm!

Good news is, we did get all of our shopping done and we got all the food and everything made and ready to go the next day!

Remember

June 18th

Day 45
I hope some day my kids can look back on this blog and "remember" all the times they got along. Someday when they're 7 and 9 and fighting over who took the last piece of garlic bread. When they're 12 and 14 and fighting over the bathroom. When they're 15 and 17 and fighting over the computer. When they're adults and thinking the arguing and the fighting and the pulling hair, biting and stealing toys is a never ending battle with their own kids. And when they need to take time out of their busy schedules just to remember each other when life was carefree. I hope they always remember just how important the relationship is between siblings and they never forget how much they love each other.

Day 45

Way Back Wednesdays 2

Wednesday, June 17th

Day 44
I hope I can get through this one without crying.

Nolan turns 1 on Saturday so I thought it fitting to take you through his first 12 months.

Nolan Parker Gallup was evicted by form of induction on June 20th 2008. He weighed in at 7 pounds 12 ozs and he was 100% healthy and absolutely perfect!

Nolan loves his daddy. Here he is a little over a month old!

Nolan also loves his sister. I absolutely love this picture of Brookie giving her baby brother a kiss but right after that he barfed all over her. That was the last time she kissed him on the mouth! To this day she kisses the top of his head!!

At 3 months Nolan was doing those adorable little belly laughs.

For Halloween Nolan was a Chile pepper! He only wore it for a minute at my friend Heather's house because it was so hot and it didn't fit in his carseat anyways

And here's Nolan at 5 months with his brother and sister! (Only the 3rd or 4th time in his life that he'd seen his brother!)

Nolan's first christmas was when he was 6 months old! He had a blast playing with all the...wrapping paper! All kids feel the same way...the wrapping paper is WAY cooler than any toy!

In Nolan's 7th month he started crawling, rolling from his tummy up into the sitting position & pulling himself up on stuff and "cruising" (For those of you who don't know that's where they walk holding onto stuff). With all the new activities, Nolan started to slim down a little! Still my little tank but definitely thinning out!

Nolan's 8 month was a little rough! We stopped breastfeeding and switched to formula and he started cutting teeth almost immediately afterwards. Which of course made me feel extremely guilty! But we got through the crying, fussies, and night time drama and he cut his first tooth! Of course I never could get him to sit still long enough to get a picture but I do have a picture of him out cold after one of our late nights.

At 9 months Nolan had 4 teeth and he was starting to get into EVERYTHING!

Nolan has such a personality even at 10 months you just see what a little ham he is!

I love my little boy and it's been so wonderful to watch him grow! I can't even believe he's going to be one! Here's Nolan at 11 months!

Nolan's Car Seat

Tuesday, June 16th

Day 43
So I looked at Nolan's car seat and with the removable head rest OFF he was 2 pounds over the weight limit for his seat. Now if you've ever seen his seat it's already pretty wedged in between his seat and the back of the driver's seat.

So I did some researching after asking on cafemom.com and realized that his seat could ALMOST go straight up and that the red line on the side of his true fit that says it needs to be parallel to the floor is absolutely ridiculous! So I put his seat up further and put the head rest on and he's good to go until 35 pounds! (Which might not take long the way he eats!) I took a picture with my cell phone of the install and it's the only picture I took all day!

Singing in the Rain!

June 15th

Day 42
We went to fill out paper work at the new apartment complex and we found out that we got the apartment! We were so excited that even a big rain storm cloud looming over our heads couldn't get our spirits down. A little ways into town the rain subsided and the sun was out. So we went about our business and not 5 minutes after we got home it started pouring down rain here too. We had the door open because it was just so muggy and hot so we saw it start and then stop. When it started again, it started HARD, way harder than before so me and Brooke went outside to play in the big puddle that's right outside our parking spot.
Then I remembered taking Silas outside to teach him how to jump in puddles when he was little too. (It was always my favorite thing to do in the rain so I taught my kids how to, also!) So me and Brooke went to the HUGE puddle at the top of the apartment complex that I took Silas to, but someone seems to have made it...well, not so huge. And it was full of mud! But by the time we got back towards our house we were not only completely soaked but greeted by an even bigger puddle from all the rain gutters and the storm drains not being fast enough to suck all the water down. Boy was that a sight to see once the storm slowed a little and the drain caught up!! It was like a huge bathtub drain, sucking all the water down in a spiral!
Brookelyn had so much fun she didn't even want to come back inside!

day 42

Always the big helper

June 14

Day 41
Sunday we took the kids to one set of grandparents to visit for the afternoon. And of course Brookelyn, always the big helper, went out to help Grandpa and Grandma Jeppsen pull weeds and water the dirt that they're trying to grow into new grass. WOW, did she get dirty! But she was a great big help and she had lots of fun, and that's all that matters!

Day 41

Park

June 13th

Day 40
Took the kids to the park. They absolutely loved it! We were on a search for a park for Nolan's birthday party and we picked one, but then we took the kids down the road to a park we hadn't been to before that's tucked out of the way and only had one other kid! Nolan, Brooke and Dante had a blast! Running all over the place, going down the slide and climbing up and down the stairs. We brought Nolan to the shade for a little break and at first he was trying to go back to the park but his Daddy gave him a stick to play with and he was content as can be playing with all the sticks in the grass.

Day 40

Scrap Booking!

June 12th

Tonight I had a scrap booking "crop" to go too. As always, I didn't get much done!! There's a lot of gossip and gabbing and food and wine so I got like half a page done the whole time! I made my friend Kelsey go with me so the guys stayed at home with the kids. We had a TON of fun and I can't wait for next month's crop and bunko!! (If you've never played bunko it's a TON of fun!!)

Then Kelsey and I came home and played Uno with the boys since they had already put all the kids to bed. It was fun hanging out with Kelsey, it had been forever since we hung out with her last!

Waterpad Attempt 2

June 11

Day 38
In the morning, I recieved a text message from my friend Heather asking if I'd like to bring the kids to meet her at the water pad by my house! So we went and played with Rylan and Haden. Haden is FEARLESS in that water! Rylan, like Brookelyn, didn't like it, and he was tired so he sat in the stroller most of the time. But they all had fun anways! And Brooke seeing Haden in it, decided it wasn't SO bad and got a LITTLE brave sometimes!

Then after we got home I was searching craigslist and found a new apartment! They're new, 3 bedroom for a decent price, with a washer and dryer AND they have a pool and a playground!! We're going back to apply today!! Keep your fingers crossed!

Way Back Wednesdays 1

June 10th

Day 37
For some reason, Wednesday is usually my slack day. I really hardly do anything and we stay in our PJ's and let the living room pile up with toys instead of cleaning it 100 times a day. So I decided today will be my first "Way Back Wednesday" And I'll show you a picture I took in June of 2007! That was Brookie, believe it or not!

Waterpad Attempt 1

June 9th

Day 36
I think it was the first time this year that I've pushed BOTH kids up to the park in the double stroller by myself and MAN those kids are heavy! From now on I think we'll drive! Or find a new park! We were planning on just playing on the toys but then Nolan and Brooke spied the water pad and decided to take their shoes off and run around on it! But neither of them were TO into getting in the water and liked to play more in the puddles!

Going Home

June 8

Day 35
I don't think going home will ever get any easier. Especially with a teary-eyed 8 year old wanting us to stay and a screaming 2 year old saying she wanted to go see Gwamma and Gwampa and Aunt Hana...And Aunt Cassie and Ewin and Gweeeaaat Gwaaaamma all the way out of Portland. (For those of you who don't speak 2 year old jabber, that's Grandma, grandpa, aunt Hana, aunt Cassie, Erin and Great Grandma) As a side tracking mechanism we stopped at Multnomah Falls and it brought back the memories of my trips there as a kid and seeing it everytime we drove past on the way to and from Oregon. Fun times! Brooke loved it but was a little upset that she couldn't play in it like she could at the waterfall at Manito Park ! But she enjoyed it all the same!

MultnomahFalls3

Sunday

June 7

Day 34
My little sister got baptized! It was her decision and she wore a super pretty dress and I'm happy we got to be a part of it! We also went to see this Marine Band and they were good! Unfortunately I didn't get hardly any good pictures on this day because ALL my pictures were coming out blue..when I finally figured it out, well someone had changed the settings on my camera to tungsteen or something like that and I didn't figure THAT out until Monday!
But I did get a picture of Nolan in his little suit that was so adorable!

Party Day!

June 6th

Day 33
Saturday the 6th we had a small birthday party for Nolan since we were going to be visiting 1/4 of his grandparents anyways, we decided to have a little shindig so everyone could give him their gifts and have another excuse to eat cake!

Then we went to my cousin's graduation party. It was tons of fun and I had the chance to see the farm she works on. They had a newborn cow and it was ADORABLE! We also took pictures of everyone's butts to play "Name That Butt". So after the grad party we played and then we played Phase 10 which is like one of the funnest games ever made! (P.S. I'm pretty freaking proud of this black and white conversion by the way)

Erin with Nolan

You're gonna miss this...

June 5th

Day 32
Early on Friday my stepdad and I got my cousin, Erin, from her house in Banks (which I'd never been to and after this last weekend I could probably get there with my eyes closed!) so that we could go get tattoos as her graduation present from Glenn and myself. My Mom and Stepdad took the kids and Glenn, Cassie, Erin and I went to downtown Portland so the girls could get tattoos. (And NO Glenn is not scared to get a tattoo he just wants one that's actually going to mean something to him and hasn't decided what that will be yet!) When we got there I realized that my wallett wasn't in my purse and I assumed it was at the house. So Glenn, being the loving person that he is, drove all the way back to hillsboro to get my wallett. While he was gone we decided Erin should go first, then Cassie, then me! Erin got her first tattoo, 3 magenta colored stars on her forearm. (She plans on adding to them, I think!) I called Glenn about a million times but he got stuck in traffic and it was taking him longer than expected so on with Cassie's. She got a black peace sign on her wrist. Glenn called me at this time and let me know that my wallett was in our car the whole time!! (whoops!) and was barley on his way back (and about to be stuck in traffic again) when she got done so we sat in the chairs in the waiting area and laughed and talked about how moronic it was that none of us thought to look in the car before Glenn drove all the way back! So we finally got my tattoo done (it took all of about 5 minutes), a simple tattoo that says love in black cursive letters with two red hearts.

Then it was back to banks for Erin's graduation. We all watched her walk across the stage and screamed and yelled as loud as we could and took about a bazillion pictures!

Sometime after that we lost Nolan's blue and yellow sandal. So hey, if you live in Banks and have one blue and yellow size 5 sandal, please....leave a comment ;)

Hide and Go Seek

Day 31
Today I've been working pretty hard, cleaning and trying to get everything ready for the 6+ hour drive to Portland tonight. We cleaned up all the rooms (except my own) and got everything packed and ready to boogie. I asked Brooke to finish picking up her toys in her bedroom that were by Nolan's crib while I picked up the toys in the living room. I grabbed all the toys and turned around and walked into Brooke's room and she was gone!
So I said "Brookie, where'd you go??" No answer. So I shouted a little louder "Brookelyn, where are you??" No answer. I tried not to panic but my hands started shaking and my heart started beating as I looked in the bathroom (not there) and in my room (not there either). So i ran for the front door and looked outside and shouted "Brooke if you're out here you'd better get your butt to Mommy NOW!" Fully knowing she couldn't have gotten the sliding glass door open and shut by herself, I thought I'd check anyways but she wasn't anywhere.
How does one of the WORST hide and seek players of all time, due to her giggling, hide where I can find her, in an apartment this small?! I decided to check the back rooms again and when I went into Brooke and Nolan's room I hear "tee heee heeeee" and see a foot sneaking back under the crib. So I grabbed the camera knowing she was safe and dropped to my stomach and said "I FOUND YOU!!"
But then we had a long talk about how she should tell mommy BEFORE she plays hide and seek, then I'd count and come find her. And also reminded her that opening the door for ANYTHING or ANYBODY is not OK if Mom and Dad don't say it's OK and will earn her a big time out.

Goober.

June 3rd

Day 30
First, June 3 is Shelby's birthday so, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHELB!!

And we tried Goober...(Haha yeah, that's what I said too!)

While shopping for more peanut butter and jelly, Glenn and Brookie decided we needed to buy Goober instead. And, while fake gagging, I couldn't help but admit that it would be a teeny tiny bit easier. I decided to taste it since I like peanut butter and jelly too and honestly, it tastes fine LOL, just like peanut butter and jelly. I'm glad we bought it, and Brooke LOVES the label!

Then later we got to watch our nephew Colin while Roxane and Bobby took Vanessa to the movies. He's like an older baby stuck in the body of a little baby! It's hilarious the way he's so small but he just takes off after my kids and crawls on top of stuff. He's a pretty happy and easy going kid!! We'd take him any time!

Jammies!

June 2nd

Day 29
The kids got new Jammies! And I'm in love! Brooke's have whales on them and Nolan's have dinosaurs on them! I wish they came in my size! But of course they wouldn't sit still TOGETHER to let me take a picture and this is the best one that I got!

Stupid Mosquito.

June 1st

Day 28
Sometime at the birthday parties on Sunday poor Brooke got eaten ALIVE by mosquitos. She calls them her moqwito bites. The worst of them were on her back but she also has SEVERAL on her legs and arms. It's so sad, she lays on the living room floor and rubs her back on the carpet or she'll lay her head in my lap and ask me to rub her back cause it itches so bad :( Here's my poor baby
